(LYNCHBURG, Va., July 1, 2020) – In 2010, as part of an ongoing initiative to provide excellent customer service, Delta Star dramatically increased their capabilities and introduced Field Service as a standalone division. Celebrating a 10-year Anniversary in 2020, Delta Star Field Service has witnessed tremendous growth and continues to offer full-service packages which include: installation, processing, and service focusing on preventive maintenance that minimizes future unscheduled downtime and optimizes the life of the transformer.
Delta Star provides customers with the advantage of over 100 years of OEM transformer and mobile substation services, as well as world class leadership on mobile substations. Delta Star aims to provide that level of quality at every field service job. With this purpose in mind, Delta Star has invested heavily in the Field Service Division over the last 10 years in equipment, facilities, and the craftsmen who are on the job.
Part of that investment was in technologically advanced oil processing rigs. In 2010, Field Service started with a Fifth Wheel Trailer with basic processing equipment. The fleet has now grown to nine, eighteen wheel oil processing rigs that are spread out throughout the United States in Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, Wyoming, and Oklahoma to ensure rapid response.
The investment in craftsmen has seen the workforce within the division expanded rapidly over the last decade. The division now has over 40 employees, all with the technical expertise to ensure that transformers operate at peak performance. “Our Field Service Division is focused on serving our customers,” said Jason Greene, President and Chief Executive Officer of Delta Star. “Our technicians take ownership of the transformer when it comes to performing a service or completing repairs and treat the transformer as if it were their own. They hold themselves to high standards, execute on the details, and take pride in their challenging work.”
Having a high-quality service division reiterates the commitment to quality that Delta Star possesses. “It is vital that we are able to support our customers from the design stage right through the assembly, oil fill and testing of the product to verify the transformer is ready for commissioning,” said Jon Langley, Field Service Sales Manager. “It is crucial that our crews have the experience needed to work not just on Delta Star transformers but any other manufacturers transformer in order to provide the support needed for our customers.” Technicians serve customers by completing repairs while also teaching them about the product they have purchased. This allows the customer to feel safe and secure that Delta Star will be there to answer any questions they may have during the course of the transformer’s life cycle.
The Field Service Division attributes their successful growth to the relationships that have been built and maintained with customers over the last 10 years, recognizing the value and importance of building and strengthening lasting relationships. “We recognize the importance of treating customers as individuals,” said Matt DeWever, Parts Sales. “We strive to hear their problems and offer personal solutions.”
