(Lynchburg, VA — April 17, 2025) — Delta Star, Inc., a leading manufacturer of power transformers and mobile transformer substations, today announced plans to expand its Lynchburg manufacturing facility. The expansion is designed to meet the growing demand for reliable, energy-efficient power solutions to support the evolving energy landscape throughout North America.
The $35 million, 80,000 sq. ft. facility expansion will reflect Delta Star’s commitment to providing high-quality power transformers and mobile substations that are essential in supporting critical infrastructure projects, renewable energy developments, and electrical grid modernization efforts. With energy efficiency and reliability being top priorities in the industry, the expansion will allow Delta Star to enhance its production capacity in an ever-changing landscape with increasing demands for power solutions.
“We are excited to expand our Lynchburg facility to help address the global demand for energy solutions that prioritize both reliability and sustainability,” said Jason Greene, Delta Star’s president and chief executive officer. “This investment will not only increase our manufacturing capacity but also allow us to continue advancing our technological capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the energy sector.”
The announcement comes less than 24 months after the organization announced a 108,000 sq. ft. expansion project which resulted in a new metal fabrication facility and a corporate headquarters in Lynchburg and was completed in the Fall of 2024.
The expansion will feature cutting-edge manufacturing equipment, upgraded systems, and additional manufacturing space to support industry demands while also ensuring that every transformer meets the highest standards related to performance and reliability. This will allow Delta Star to deliver industry-leading products that ensure power grids are more efficient and resilient, minimizing downtime and reducing energy loss.
The expansion will create 300 new jobs in the region, providing skilled employment in manufacturing, engineering, and operational support roles. The investment in the local workforce will further strengthen Lynchburg’s position as the energy hub of Virginia.
“By expanding our footprint here in Lynchburg, we are reinforcing our dedication to advancing energy infrastructure with cutting-edge technology, a skilled workforce, and an investment back into the communities in which we operate out of,” said Michael Pearson, Delta Star’s chief operating officer. “We look forward to the continued growth of both our company and the community of Lynchburg as we build the next generation of power transformers and mobile substations.”
